Basic scientific directions of the department are:
- Analysis and synthesis of nano-sized materials and composites; study of physical-chemical, mechanical, tribological, sorption, adhesion properties of materials in micro-and nanoscales
- Microanalysis and nanodiagnostics of surfaces with high resolution by the methods of optical, electron, atom force microscopy and interferometry. Modification and functioning of surfaces
- Micro-and nanosize heat transfer, contact problems of micromechanics, Mathematical modeling of micro- and nanosize systems
- Micro-and nanomechanics of biological objects. Modeling of transfer processes in biological systems. Development of nano-sized optical biomarkers
